Cartografica Galeotti believes that the development of its activities must take place in compliance with environmental compatibility: it optimizes the use of natural resources at every stage, making consumption more efficient and favoring the recovery of waste. It contributes to the protection of the forest heritage and uses energy from renewable sources.
The company has developed an Environmental Management System in compliance with the ISO 14001 standard, which defines the objectives for improving environmental performance in line with the critical issues that have emerged and takes specific actions aimed at encouraging the achievement of the predetermined targets.
The raw materials used in its production processes are made up of recycled fibers and, in part, of virgin fibers. In the latter case, the company is committed to promoting the correct use and exploitation of forest resources, making sure that procurement takes place from certified or controlled sources according to the main forest chain of custody schemes FSC(Forest Stewardship Council), and PEFC(Program for Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes). With the construction of this plant, the company intends to achieve significant energy savings through the use of renewable energy sources, also aiming to meet the following objectives:
Saving of fuel used for the production of electricity thanks to the use of renewable energy sources. This value is expressed by the conversion coefficient of the TOE (Tons of Oil Equivalent), necessary for the production of electricity. The estimated savings in twenty years is 3,220 TOE.
